Multi-Location Management Permissions Overview
Restaurant Access
- Controls the locations you have access to log into using your passcode on Toast POS terminals
- Selecting a restaurant group will select all the locations within it
- You can deselect specific locations as needed
Restaurant Permissions
- Controls the locations and restaurant groups a user has access to edit within Toast Web. Ties directly to the Owner field in Toast Web.
- Any name in the drop-down window that is grayed out indicates the locations and/or restaurant groups where the user already has permissions set
- In the image below, the user in question has permission to edit anything owned by Boston, DC, or San Francisco. They do not have access to anything owned by Blurred Limes, East Coast, or West Coast
- Setting Restaurant Permissions to a restaurant group does not automatically give permissions to every location within the group
- Setting Restaurant Permissions to every location within a restaurant group does not automatically give permissions to the Restaurant Group.
Multi-Location Management Permissions FAQ
Can employees have certain permissions at certain locations?
Yes! Provide Restaurant Permissions per location needed by the employee. Then, override and check to allow for each permission needed by the employee.
Should internal Toast users be updating permissions for restaurants?
No, all changes should be made by the Restaurant user. However, Toasters can walk you through how to update permissions if necessary.
Does the Applies To field within the Job affect the Restaurant Access or Permissions?
No, the Applies To field only affects where the job can be seen and, therefore, used.
