Why can't I make updates to orders from Toast Local?

  • Can I change the server after an order is placed via Toast Local or Toast Local?
  • I'm seeing an error message that says, "Sorry, you cannot make updates to orders from this online ordering provider" - what does it mean?

Answer

Modifications to orders where Toast is classified as a marketplace facilitator are not allowed. Toast is classified as a marketplace facilitator for orders originating from the Toast Local app and Toast Local in applicable jurisdictions.

 

Modifications are any type of change to the order after it has been placed, such as (but not limited to) adding or removing items, changing the delivery address, and adding or removing discounts.
