Outages and Disruptions: Toast Loyalty and Gift Cards

• Does Toast Toast Loyalty work when Toast is offline?

• How do Toast Loyalty or gift cards work in Offline Mode?

When your restaurant is in Offline Mode:

• Toast Loyalty is unavailable, and rewards accounts cannot be attached to orders.
  • Employees will see an error message informing them of this when processing loyalty transactions for guests. To proceed with payment for the order, they'll need to remove the loyalty reward first. 
• Gift cards cannot be used for payment. Employees will see an error message like one of the following if they try to process a gift card payment while the device is in Offline Mode:
  
  • Error when retrieving third party comp card: Unable to process comp card and get status request
  • Error retrieving third party gift card: Unable to open a secure connection with the gift card provider. Please contact Toast support.
