Learn about managing your overtime threshold rules for accurate labor reports and compliance based on your setup.
If you’re using Toast Web/POS only, you may opt to configure your overtime (OT) rules in Toast Web in order to see your overtime calculations in the labor reports. Learn more about setting up your OT rules in .
If you’re using both Toast Web and Toast Payroll or Toast Payroll only, do not configure your OT rules in Toast Web as these rules are handled automatically based on state regulations in Toast Payroll.
Weekly overtime thresholds are set internally, but you may check your daily overtime thresholds in Toast Payroll. They can be found on each employee's profile by navigating to Profile Settings from the Employment or Profile tab.
There may be instances in which you may experience issues with overtime hours not appearing in Toast Payroll when they should be, and/or your timesheet may show that an employee has overtime hours when they should not have one. When these issues occur, we highly recommend that you check to see if your overtime rules are configured correctly. Remember that if you’re using both Toast Payroll and Toast Web, you must not configure your overtime rules in Toast Web since these rules are handled automatically based on state regulations in Toast Payroll.
