This guide explains the "Additional Tablet Monthly Subscriptions" on your Subscriptions page.
Toast offers flexible subscription management for its hardware devices, including POS terminals and handheld devices. This guide explains "Additional Tablet Monthly Subscriptions" on your Subscriptions page and how they relate to your devices, as well as how to manage them effectively.
An "Additional Tablet Monthly Subscription" refers to the recurring licensing fee Toast charges for each additional device used with your system. This charge applies to devices such as additional POS terminals, Kitchen Display System (KDS) screens, and handheld devices like Toast Go® handhelds.
Each line item on your Toast invoice will reflect both the rate (cost per subscription) and the quantity of devices covered. For example, if you have five devices, the "Amount" will multiply the per-device cost by five.
If your device usage changes—such as retiring older tablets or reducing the number of handheld devices—you should review and adjust your subscriptions. Only active devices require an active subscription. For example, if you use 10 handheld devices, but notice three additional tablet software subscriptions, you should investigate and cancel any unused subscriptions to avoid unnecessary costs.
Be cautious to ensure you only cancel subscriptions for devices you are no longer using. If you are unsure which devices a subscription applies to, contact Toast Support for detailed assistance.
Subscriptions are billed based on your account’s active subscription count and not tied to specific device serial numbers. Ensure sufficient subscriptions are active to cover your intended device usage.
No, as handhelds, stationary POS systems, and kitchen devices each require their own specific subscriptions. They cannot be interchanged.
