A Time Away From Work (TAFW) tier is a grouping of settings that define an employee's time away policy. TAFW tiers can be assigned to employees individually or, for faster onboarding, they can be assigned to specific positions. For example, if you know all of your BOH staff will have the same TAFW tier, then you can set up Toast Payroll to automatically choose that tier when someone is hired to a BOH position. Their TAFW tier can be still changed during individual onboarding or after the employee was hired.
