Question

How can I view the details, rates, and associated documents for each benefit plan my company offers through the Toast Payroll Classic benefits module (legacy customers only)?

Réponse

This article only applies to customers who are using the Toast Payroll Classic Benefits module (legacy customers only). This does not apply to SimplyInsured customers through Toast Payroll Pro or customers who use the deductions-only method.

The Benefit Plans tab on the Benefits dashboard can be used as a reference to view the details, rates, and associated documents for each benefit plan offered through Toast Payroll. This page may be filtered based on plan year, benefit tier, or benefit name.

Filter this page using the drop-down menus at the top, then select the circular arrow icon to update

Find this page by navigating to Benefits > Benefit Plans. Select the intended Plan Year Start and Benefit Tier, then select the blue refresh button. This will refresh the page to display the appropriate benefits. Details of the monthly premiums may be viewed by selecting the + icon next to a Benefit Name.

  • Benefit Name: The display name of the benefit offered via the Toast Payroll Classic Benefits module as indicated on your specification form.
  • Benefit Tier: The name given to the specific grouping of benefits offered to a specific class of employees. In the video above, employees in the Salary benefit tier would be offered the opportunity to enroll in [Medical - Local Plus Choice, Medical HDHP Local Plus, Dental - Dental, and Vision - Vision].
  • Enrollment Dates: The start and end date of open enrollment where all eligible employees can make their elections in Toast Payroll.
  • Plan Year: The effective date of your benefit plan as determined by your carrier. Benefit Plan Year dates drive when deductions will populate on payroll.
  • New Hire Eligibility: The waiting period, or the time a newly hired employee needs to be employed, before their elected benefits are effective on payroll. If you're looking for a non-eligible employee's measurement period, please reference your ACA module.
  • Additional New Hire Window: The additional amount of time a newly hired employee has to enroll in benefits after their effective date. Eligible employees have the ability to enroll in benefits as soon as they are placed in an eligible benefit tier, but their benefit deductions will not be active on payroll until their effective date.
  • Plan Documents: Links to each plan document associated with the selected benefit plan.
  • Coverage Level: The available levels of coverage offered to employees based on which dependent they elect to include on their plan.
  • EE Cost: The monthly premium amount an employee will pay for each elected benefit. This monthly amount is automatically broken down into per pay period costs on the employee's profile under Employment > Recurring.
  • ER Cost: The monthly premium amount the employer will pay for each elected benefit.
  • Total Monthly Cost: The total monthly premium amount charged by the benefit carrier.
