Toast Online Ordering Pro’s Menu Page Configuration allows you to customize the restaurant information you show to guests.
Before getting started, access Toast Online Ordering Pro by following these steps:
If you are a Digital Storefront user, follow the steps in the Optimize Toast Websites article to get your online ordering page set up and live.
Toast Online Ordering Pro is not available in Canada, Ireland, and the U.K. Please check back for updates.
Set up specific links for easier navigation on your Online Ordering site. From the 3-dot drop-down menu, select how or if each setting is displayed. Make sure to Publish all changes after making them.
Show or hide which restaurant information is available to guests at the footer of your Online Ordering page.
Add your location’s social media links to your Toast Online Ordering page. Once entered, select Submit.
To access the menu builder experience where the new Online Ordering Pro time-based rules (item-based minimum lead time and pre-order) exist, MLM customers need to navigate to the legacy menu item page for the item you would like to add the rule to, then will need to select the new item page hyperlink in the blue banner at the top of the page.
Sell menu items on online ordering with an enforceable minimum lead time. For example, Spicy Ramen must be ordered 24 hours in advance. Online ordering guests will be guided to update their pickup or delivery time to add these menu items to their cart.
When checking out, guests select Express checkout with Toast or Checkout as guest. The guest will enter, review, and/or edit their personal and payment info on the next screen before submitting the order.
Once published, guests will see the following on your online ordering page and will be guided to update their pickup or delivery time before adding the item to their cart:
Note: Styling will reflect any edits made when customizing your menu. For more information on menu customization, see Toast Online Ordering Pro: Menu Customization in Toast Central.
To configure menu item pre-orders, follow the steps below:
Guests will see that this item can only be picked up or delivered on the set days.
To enable these features, navigate to Takeout & Delivery > Branding & customization > Branding & Customization Configuration in Toast Web.
Note:
Note: You can add up to five featured items with images in Toast Web.
As an Online Ordering Pro subscriber, you can utilize the Customize feature to select up to three menu items to be featured on top of your online ordering page (per location).
Specify which upsell items appear when items from a given menu group are in the cart. For example, you can customize by menu group so that one set of upsells is displayed when a sandwich is in the cart, and another is displayed when a salad is in the cart.
Upsell recommendations will appear if they are not already present in the cart. If an item specified as an upsell recommendation is already in the cart, we will not show it and cycle through to the next indicated upsell recommendation.
