You can connect your Toast POS to Uber Eats in a few steps:
Uber Eats can pull your menu directly from Toast. To allow Uber Eats to display a menu, make sure the is set to Online Orders: Partners. A Toast menu specialist will ensure that your menu is configured correctly so Uber Eats can retrieve it.
Note: If you use choose to integrate with multiple third-party online ordering partners, you can use the menu builder to control which menus are shared with each specific partner, as shown below. To learn more, check out this Toast Central article: .
If you are already an Uber Eats customer, when switching to the Toast integration, you will lose the ability to add items/categories to your menus through the Uber Eats portal. You will need to edit your menu on Toast's back-end so that Uber Eats captures these updates in real-time.
The Uber Eats-Toast integration DOES currently sync menu item photos. However, photos for menus, groups, and modifiers are not supported currently.
Note: The following image specifications are needed for the sync to work:
If you need to re-adjust your third-party ordering menu prices after onboarding, you can do this in Toast Web by navigating to Third party ordering > Uber Eats > Increase menu price.
Note: This pricing configuration will apply price increases on top of the base price selected on your menu, and price increases do not apply to modifiers.
For Uber Eats orders to flow into Toast, you will need two Uber Eats specific dining options set up. Toast will take care of your dining options during the initial setup and create one dining option for takeout and one for delivery. We recommend ensuring that the following dining options exist before taking orders from Uber Eats:
Note: These dining options will appear greyed out as they are not editable and cannot be deleted.
Even if you have an existing labeled "Uber," a new one will still be created. Uber Eats will use the Delivery option for orders delivered to the guest and the Takeout option for pickup orders. If you do not offer pickup orders through Uber Eats, the dining option for pickup will not be used. You cannot use self-delivery for Uber Eats orders.
These dining options will allow you to accurately report the number of orders and revenue generated by each Uber Eats order method.
If you are an Uber Eats integration customer, you can now mark items as containing alcohol directly in your Toast menu. This will allow you to leverage labeled alcohol menu items from any of your Visible to: Online ordering: Partners menus.
Once your location is live on the Uber Eats integration and Uber Eats has approved you to sell alcohol on the Uber Eats merchant platform, they will use the labeling assigned in Visible to: Online ordering: Partners menus. Visit for step-by-step directions to label alcoholic menu items.
After you have labeled the items containing alcohol, those items will be compliant and available for guests to purchase on Uber Eats if the menu is visible to partners. For more information on menu visibility, see the article .
For orders to flow successfully from Uber Eats into Toast, a Uber Eats needs to exist in your Toast back-end. Toast will create your payment type during the initial setup. We recommend ensuring this payment option exists before taking orders. All Uber Eats orders will fail if this payment option is not configured.
Uber Eats orders are included with the configuration you choose that automatically or manually marks orders as ready. If you have the following toggle On, Uber Eats orders will automatically be marked as Order Ready once fulfilled by your kitchen. If you have the toggle Off, you'll need to mark the Uber Eats orders that populate in your POS's Orders Hub - Active tab as Order Ready when appropriate, which deems them ready for pickup by your guest or the delivery driver. You can find this setting by navigating in Toast Web to Takeout & delivery > Orders Hub > Kitchen Display System (KDS).
Uber Eats orders can be assigned to a specific Revenue Center automatically. A Revenue Center will need to be created with one of the following accepted values:
Once the revenue center is created, Uber Eats will automatically link its orders to that Revenue Center, so there is no need to notify Uber Eats. You will not have to apply the revenue center to a table, service area, or device.
If there is no Revenue Center with the names above, no Revenue Center will be assigned to Uber Eats orders. At this time, there is no customization supported. For more information on Revenue Centers, visit .

If you are part of a restaurant group, Yes, you will need to follow the same steps individually for each restaurant you would like to add the Uber Eats-Toast integration to.
If you didn't finish setting up the integration, you can still access the setup steps in Toast Web after logging in. A checklist at the bottom right of your screen will appear, containing a line item for the integration setup.
Once you complete your checklist, the Toast Third Party Setup Specialist will send you an email with the next steps on how to complete the integration. For existing Uber Eats merchants, these instructions are called the and are required for the integration to work. New Uber Eats restaurants will not need to go through the Merchant Bridge Setup Steps. Uber Eats will activate the restaurant, and no further action is needed.
The Merchant Bridge Setup is self-service, and the customer activates the integration using their Uber Eats Manager login credentials.
If you’ve set up your menus and pricing correctly, your integration will go live once you receive confirmation from Uber Eats after logging in or creating a new account.
This may be because your Uber Eats activation was not completed in full. Review the Merchant Bridge Setup steps and make sure you have filled out a contract. If you need additional help, contact Uber Eats: restaurants@uber.com or 833-ASK-EATS (833-275-3287).
3PO integrations can be added individually or as a bundle. They can be added through Toast Shop.
Toast will make sure to send an initial email for setup. We will also send another email as confirmation that the setup is complete. Please follow the instructions in this confirmation email from Toast and click the Uber Eats link to sign up and activate your account.
Note: These emails will be sent to the email address linked to the Toast account. If you have not received any emails from Toast, please confirm the email address linked to the account with your team, Sales Rep, or Toast Customer Care. No. Orders will need to flow directly into an operational POS. Orders sent to a non-operation POS will fail.
Toast recommends that customers set up their Uber Eats account before completing the integration checklist. Every location using the integration requires a corresponding Uber Eats account as per the last item on the checklist.
If you do not have an Uber Eats account before completing the integration checklist, the last step on the checklist will direct you to the Uber Eats account setup page to begin the account creation process on the Uber Eats platform. Integrations may be delayed as both a Toast and Uber Eats account are required to integrate.
The POS displays an itemized breakdown of the order, the guest's first name, and last initial, and a specific Uber Eats order number will appear in the Tab Name.
Uber Eats does not use your Online Ordering prep times or quote time strategies from Toast Web for driver pickup times. If you have questions about how Uber Eats generates these times, please contact Uber Eats support.
Yes. You can configure holiday or special hours as a in Toast's Online Ordering Schedule, and the schedule overrides will display on the Uber Eats platform.

Make sure the settings are correct, or if you don't have a menu you would like to use, make sure to create it, and then come back to this step to select a menu. This is an important step that needs to be completed for setup.
If your restaurant doesn't offer pickup orders, the pickup dining option will not be used as a result, and you can continue not to offer the option for pickup through Uber Eats.
If you are a current Uber Eats customer switching to the Toast direct integration, you lose the ability to add items/categories to your menus via the Uber Eats Manager. You will need to update your menu in Toast's back-end. Edits will be captured within minutes.

If an item is 86'd in Toast, the Uber Eats marketplace will reflect the update in real-time.
Yes, they do! Item photos are currently supported by the Uber Eats-Toast integration. Make sure that any item images or photos are added to all of your menus if you are using separate menus for on-premise dining and third party ordering integrations, like Uber Eats.
The Uber Eats integration doesn't currently support pre-modifiers and sequence pricing. If these are configured in your Toast menu, Uber Eats will not be able to successfully pull your menu from Toast.
Additionally, Uber Eats does not support overnight hours configured on a menu's Availability. For example, if a menu is configured to be available from 10 p.m. - 2 a.m., Uber Eats will not be able to sync. The workaround is to split the menu into two separate menus: One would cover the hours before midnight (10 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.), and the second would cover the hours after midnight (12 a.m. - 2 a.m.).
Lastly, Uber Eats does not support menus that have an Availability for less than 60 minutes. For example, a menu cannot have Availability configured where it can only be ordered from a time frame such as 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. All menus must be available for at least one hour.
Guest tips are paid directly to the driver. Tip distribution is managed by Uber Eats.

Any Uber Eats order with the dining option behavior set as Delivery will show in Delivery Mode if you have delivery with your own drivers or Toast Delivery Services enabled. Uber Eats delivery orders will automatically clear out of unassigned status at the end of each day. Creating a "dummy driver" employee (with the Driver job and permissions) will allow your restaurant to assign those orders to them in order to clear them from Delivery Mode on the POS.
Remove the integration using the steps outlined . However, you will still be charged the monthly fee, so request cancellation via your subscriptions page in the sub hub.
No, all Uber Eats orders are sent directly to the kitchen.
If you continue to have issues, contact the Uber Eats support team.
As of now, you cannot use a virtual concept with the Uber Eats direct integration.
If a location previously had a middleware provider or previous POS integration on their Uber Eats account, they must reach out to Uber Eats to have the middleware disabled and the aggregator's menus disabled. This does not happen automatically when the integration is configured through the merchant bridge.
To request this from Uber Eats's Team, you will want to use the following template to get assistance:
We have recently switched from the [middleware name] to the direct Toast/Uber Eats integration. Please disable the [middleware] integration and ensure that the only menus visible to guests are the ones from Toast.
If you are having trouble getting this resolved with Uber Eats's Team, please start a chat in Toast Now or call Customer Care and request the Integrations team. We will take the necessary steps to change you from middleware to the direct integration with Uber Eats.
If these steps are not taken when the Merchant Bridge is completed, the location can end up with canceled/missed orders.
For driver/order-related issues (e.g., refunds delivery, timing, open/close time), please contact Uber Eats customer support.
