Toast Payroll: Tips Not Syncing From Toast Web

Why are tips missing from or not showing up in Toast Payroll?

If your business uses both Toast Web and Toast Payroll and you're using the direct sync method for tips to flow from Toast Web to Payroll, credit card tips will appear on an employee's timesheet. Credit card tips will also populate on the payroll run after a timesheet is approved (unless the  feature is enabled, then direct sync tips will be approved when the Start payroll button is selected on the ). If a certain day's tips are not syncing over, follow these steps to check for a common error: 

1. From the Toast Web homepage, select Sales Summary from the Quick Actions menu.
2. Navigate to the Shifts tab and then select the date you are inquiring about. Only one day can be selected for this specific report.
3. Select Update and then scroll to the bottom and check for an open shift. If there is an open shift, this employees tips will not sync to Toast Payroll, so they will need to be added manually. You can find directions on how to sync an employee's shifts manually here: .
