Question

How can I make edits or changes to an employee's profile in Toast Payroll?

Answer

From an employee's Toast Payroll Profile tab, employers are be able to:

  • View or update employee contact information, address, and demographic information
  • View or update an employee's emergency contacts
  • Terminate or rehire an employee from the system
  • Sync an employee with Toast POS
  • Retrieve a Social Security number (SSN)

  1. To access an employee's profile, navigate to Team or use the Search employees bar at the top of the page.
  2. First, select the Profile tab at the top and then use the Edit buttons in the different sections on this page to make changes to the employee's personal information.

  3. If you would like to terminate an employee or put them on a leave of absence (LOA), select the > icon in the Status tile of the Employment tab to begin with the Status Change wizard. View more information on terminating an employee or rehiring an employee.

  4.  If you would like to access an employee's social security number (SSN), select the Retrieve SSN link. Confirm this action is for business purposes and then select the view (eyeball) icon. For security, users who have viewed or edited an SSN will be tracked and listed on the Retrieve SSN pop-up. Knowing this, you may use the Retrieve SSN link to audit SSN activity for an employee.

  5. Provided they are mapped, updates made to Toast Payroll profiles will immediately sync to Toast Web profiles.
  6. If you're looking to make a different update, review Toast Payroll: Sync Information With Toast Web to check if the edit should be made in Toast Web instead.
