    2. If you need assistance logging into the app, Log in to a Toast Product or Device can guide you through the steps.
  2. Select the Pay tab.
  3. On the Paychecks screen, you'll see paycheck details sorted by most recent pay period. Select a tile to open the pay period and view its information.

  5. If you'd like to download a paystub from the MyToast app, select the < caret icon in the upper-left corner, then select Download your paystubs at the top of the screen. View Your Paystubs in Toast Payroll

  1. After logging into Toast Payroll, select View paystubs from the Paystubs tile on the dashboard. If you're not sure how to log in, visit Log in to a Toast Product or Device.
  2. At the top of the page, you'll see a bar with the highlights of your most recent pay. Selecting the > caret icon on the right will automatically pull up your most recent paystub.
    1. For the best experience, use Google Chrome.

  3. If you work for more than one federal employer identification number (FEIN), select the appropriate FEIN from the Business drop-down menu.
  4. Below the drop-down menus are your paystub entries within the selected date range. You can download or print your paystub from this page by selecting the download arrow on the right.
    1. Select the > icon on the far right of any paystub entry to open a separate tab containing your entire paystub.
    2. A paystub entry with an overflow icon (...) has more than one paystub for that time period. You can download each individual pay stub file individually here.
      1. Note: When you work at more than one location during the same pay period, you may receive two paychecks/pay stubs on the same day. They will be listed on this page as a cumulative total, but if an employee only receives a partial amount of their expected wages, they have probably only received the amount from one payroll. Another payroll will create a second deposit.
    3. Depending on your restaurant's Toast Payroll subscription, you'll see some combination of your earnings, deductions, taxes, benefits, and time away from work balances on your paystub.

  5. To pull up a report of multiple paystubs by date range, select Run Report. Enter the Date range you're looking for and choose a Report type before selecting View report.
    1. Summary will display all paystubs summed up in one, which can be useful if you're looking for your year-to-date (YTD) pay.
    2. Detail will keep each paystub separate.
    3. At this time, a print option is not built into this report. In order to print a Employee pay history report, click and drag your cursor over all the text on the page, beginning with the FEIN name at the top and ending at the bottom (make sure to scroll all the way down). Then right-click within the highlighted area and select Print. If you have the option, we recommend turning this into a PDF for easy formatting, but this is not absolutely necessary.

Note: If you've accessed earned wages through Toast PayOut, it'll appear on your paystub under After Tax Deductions and Other as “Toast PayOut (Early Earned Wage Access)".

View Your Timesheet/Time Card

  1. After logging into Toast Payroll, select View paystubs from the Paystubs tile on the dashboard. If you're not sure how to log in, visit Log in to a Toast Product or Device.
  2. Select the Timesheets tab on the left.
  3. You'll now see a graph, a table, and a list of timesheets. These are all different ways to compare your recorded hours worked over time. The table in the upper-right corner quickly shows you how many hours were recorded for a given day or week.

  4. The list of timesheets at the bottom contains hyperlinks to view more details about them. A timesheet with the status of Approved indicates this timesheet is closed and is being used or has been used to process payroll. Timesheets with an Open status indicate the period has not yet been approved for payroll, so time entries may still be added or edited.
  5. Select a timesheet's hyperlink to view details. In the screenshot below, REGULAR earnings are an hourly employee's typical recording of hours per their pay rate. Tips and breaks will also appear on this page, if applicable. If you think there's an error on your timesheet, contact your manager or HR team for corrections.

 Paystub and Timesheet FAQ

What are paystubs?

When you receive wages via any payment method (paper check, direct deposit, or the Toast Pay Card), you will always have an electronic record of the components of this payment. This record is known as a paystub, pay slip, or wage statement and it includes earnings, deductions, and taxes within the indicated pay period. If you use the Toast Pay Card and your employer allows Toast PayOuts, a paystub will be generated at the end of the pay period rather than receiving a paystub for each PayOut.

How can I get a paper paystub?

Electronic pay stubs can be downloaded and printed from Toast Payroll. Additionally, if you receive a paper paycheck, a paper paystub should be attached to the check. Paper paystubs for employees receiving wages via direct deposit can also be accommodated; an employer should contact Toast Support with the associated company code and pay group name(s) to request this.

Why can't I see my most recent paystub?

This could occur for a number of reasons:

      • Are you on the Pay tab in the MyToast app?
      • If you're using Toast Payroll on a computer, your most recent paystub always lives at the top of the page, but it won't appear in the list below if you have a date range set to exclude it.
      • On a computer, you should use Google Chrome. You may also need to clear your cache and cookies.
      • If you work for more than one federal employer identification number (FEIN), you'll need to select the appropriate FEIN from the Business drop-down menu.
      • The payroll has not yet been submitted and your funds have not been received yet. Check with your manager on the timing of your paycheck and paystub.

If you're still can't see or download your paystub and you're still having trouble after attempting these steps, contact your manager for assistance.

How can a former employee get their paystub?

In short, they will use the same instructions as above. Former employees maintain limited access to the Toast Payroll system, mostly for paystub and year-end document access. If Toast Payroll files taxes on your company's behalf at the end of the year, this individual can retrieve their Form W-2 or other year-end documents by using these instructions.

What are timesheets or time cards?

Timesheets (as they're known in Toast Payroll) are documents that, at minimum, contain the dates and hours an employee works for use in calculating payroll. Employees may use timesheets in Toast Payroll to keep track of their hours, tips, breaks, and time away from work (TAFW), if applicable. Timesheets are only available as a digital version in Toast Payroll.
